These Terms of Service set out the conditions that apply to every car rental booking made with AccraDrive in Ghana, whether self-drive or chauffeured.

Self-drive renters must be at least 23 years old, hold a valid Ghanaian or international driver's licence held for a minimum of 2 years, and present a valid Ghana Card (national ID) and driver's licence. Self-drive rentals within Accra are limited to sedans and small cars. Chauffeured bookings have no age restriction for passengers.
Every booking requires a photo of your Ghana Card and driver's licence, plus a current photo for identity verification purposes. This is used solely to confirm you are the person named on the booking and matches the licence presented at handover; it is not run through automated facial recognition or biometric matching software. Documents are retained only as long as required for insurance and legal compliance, and never sold or shared beyond what's needed to fulfil your booking — see our Privacy Policy for full detail.
A booking is confirmed once a security deposit is received. Deposits start from GH₵600 for a compact sedan and scale up by vehicle class, paid securely via Mobile Money or card through our payment partner Paystack. Deposits are refundable, subject to the vehicle being returned in its original condition, on time, with the agreed fuel level.
Security deposits are refunded in full within 3–5 business days of vehicle return, provided there is no damage beyond normal wear, no unpaid mileage or fuel shortfall, and the vehicle is returned on time. Refunds are issued to the original Mobile Money account or card used for payment. Deductions, when applicable, are itemised and shared with the renter before the balance is refunded. Deposit refunds are separate from cancellation terms below, which govern refunds when a trip is cancelled before it begins.
Vehicles are handed over with a full tank and should be returned with a full tank. Vehicles returned with less fuel will be charged the shortfall plus a refuelling service fee.
Daily rentals include a standard mileage allowance appropriate to the vehicle class and trip type, communicated at booking. Additional mileage is charged per kilometre at the rate quoted in your booking confirmation.
Cancellations made more than 48 hours before pickup receive a full deposit refund. Cancellations within 48 hours may forfeit a portion of the deposit to cover vehicle preparation and driver scheduling costs.
All vehicles carry comprehensive insurance. The renter is responsible for any damage resulting from negligence, unauthorised drivers, or use outside the terms of the rental agreement, up to the insurance excess amount stated in your contract.
This is separate from the location data above: every AccraDrive vehicle carries its own GPS tracking hardware, used to monitor the vehicle itself, not the renter's personal device. Self-drive vehicles booked for use within Accra must stay within the Greater Accra service area. AccraDrive reserves the right to remotely limit or disable a vehicle taken outside its agreed area without authorisation, though never while the vehicle is in motion, and a boundary violation carries a penalty fee charged against the deposit. For chauffeured bookings, the assigned driver retains authority over vehicle safety decisions, including route changes for road conditions or weather. Requests to exceed safe driving practices will be declined.
